Here is a terribly boring and cliche “about me” page statement: I’m an amateur home cook who loves cooking, eating, creating recipes, and taking pictures of food. I know that sounds like every other food blogger on the Internet but that pretty much sums it up.
I used to enter cooking and recipe contests, and I had a blast traveling all over the country to compete on the contest cooking circuit for about ten years or so. I won cash and prizes for my recipes, and was even on TV several times. Those were the good old days.
My cooking has changed over the last couple of years. We have some food sensitivities in our family now, so most of the recipes I create now are centered around that. Also, I’m getting older and I watch what I eat more. I’m eating less processed food, and more fruits and vegetables. (I am a smoothie fanatic, by the way.) But just to be completely honest, I am not above eating a burger from a local fast food joint every once in a while. All things in moderation. (Like this coconut pie or this Key lime pound cake.)
I’m also currently working on removing as many toxic, unnatural chemicals out of our home as possible. I try to switch out one thing at a time, and I usually do this by making our own products. You can find those DIY recipes here.
And since I am approaching fifty years old, my skin needs special attention, so sometimes I write about different things I am trying to combat aging, like this anti-aging roller bottle.
To conclude this riveting mini-biography, I love wildflowers, fishing on Buckatunna Creek with my husband, and long walks at sunrise.
That is all.
Except to say that I really love this verse right here…
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.” Colossians 3:23
PS. I’m really glad you’re here!
