Since starting my healthy journey a couple of years ago, I have tried lots of things and essential oils have been something that I have incorporated into my daily routine in many ways! I am not trying to sell you anything, but I just want to share some things that have helped me and my family. I am bringing my good friend, Lacie, on board for the month of January to give some great tips on essential oils and the many ways that they can be used. Check her out on her website, her Instagram (I love following her–she gives LOTS of fantastic tips with beautiful images to inspire!), and also on her Facebook page!
And now I am going to hand it over to Lacie….
Hi Mississippi Kitchen fans! Don’t even try to deny it, you’re a fan, how could you not be?! Have you seen the amazing recipes shared here? Mouthwatering, third-helping-inducing, don’t you dare think I’m about to share my plate with you recipes! I’m a huge fan, not only of the recipes but, a fan of Lorie herself. She serves up a side of good ole southern hospitality with every recipe and if you ever get the pleasure to be in her good company, you will see just how real that hospitality is.
I’m Lacie by the way! Lorie has so graciously asked me to guest post every week through the month of January and hello, no brainier, I jumped at the opportunity. Let me introduce myself a bit. I’m a redeemed + set free child of The King. A wash the same load of laundry 5 times because I forgot about it house-wife/stay at home mama. A drinker of good merlot and smooth whiskey. And I’m a lover of all things essential oils. I’m the face and voice behind Stennett Family Essentials, sharing my desire to Seek Wellness + Live Essentially.
That’s the reason I’m here, sharing my passion for essential oils with you. While there are tons of companies offering essential oils today, Young Living has my heart. They have earned the title of The World Leader in Essential Oils for a reason and you won’t hear me say otherwise. For more information on the Young Living promise check out my website at www.stennettfamilyessentials.com.
We have been using essential oils within our home for over two years now. To nourish our bodies, enhance our overall wellness, clean our home, purify the air, inspire positive emotions, deepen spiritual awareness, refine our skin, and replace toxin-filled products.
Every week throughout January, I hope to inspire you to kick the toxins from your life and choose to move toward wellness. If you’d like more information concerning the depth of toxin pollution within the products being marketed to us world-wide, please take the time to visit www.ewg.org.
I will be sharing quick, easy, DIY beauty recipes each week to help you make real progress towards a toxin-free lifestyle. Your body will thank you! These recipes will incorporate essential oils, along with everyday items you probably already have in your home.
Beauty routines are quite important to most of us women. After all, we want to feel good about how our skin looks right? We all have spent mega money on products that claim to brighten, tighten, and revitalize. Good marketing sucks us all in from time to time. Did you realize that the majority of the chemicals within these products that offer all we are looking for also offer much much more? They are endocrine system disrupters that leave our bodies with way more than just bright, tight, revitalized skin. They leave us sluggish, grumpy and with emotional unrest. Sounds crazy, I know but, it’s true. Thankfully, there are some great, non-toxic products making their way onto the market these days. Made possible by what I like to call, the toxin coma awakening! Consumers are becoming educated and demanding safer products and companies are seeing a need to be filled. While this is wonderful, I’ve found an even easier, less expensive way to support my beauty routine safely, essential oils. Quick. Convenient. Easy. Safe. And all natural, from God’s beautiful creation.
So, here you go, the first DIY. Eye Cream. The skin around our eyes is usually where the first signs of aging start to show. Support that area without applying harsh chemicals to such delicate skin. This recipe uses three ingredients and it is amazing.
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon Rosehip Oil (can replace with Vitamin E oil if needed)
- 5 drops Frankincense Essential Oil (I use Young Living, of course)
- Place coconut oil, rosehip oil and Frankincense essential oil in a glass bowl and stir together with a spoon. Mix until smooth consistency is reached. Transfer to a small glass jar with a lid (I use small jelly jars).
The health and beauty benefits of coconut oil have been researched for years. Visit www.coconutoil.com to read and review the research for yourself.
Rosehip oil has also been researched for its skin supporting benefits. Dr. Axe has a great article detailing this here .
Frankincense Essential Oil helps to smooth skin’s appearance, maintain radiance and promote an overall beautiful complexion.
I am not a doctor. The information shared is not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure any medical condition. It is from my own personal experience and research with essential oils.
Thank you, Lacie! I cannot wait to make this and I look forward to your post next week!–Lorie
